Frequently asked questions about keyed-alike cylinders
Can I order a lock cylinder with 85 (or 100, 200, 500) keys?
Yes. We make any number of keys – whether 12, 85 or 400, and more on request. Enter the number you need in the configurator and you will see the final price instantly.
What does keyed alike mean?
Keyed-alike cylinders all open with the same key – for example front door, cellar door and garage. You only need one key for all doors.
How much do additional keys cost?
On the first order each key costs €6.50 for the BASI V50 and €9.50 for the BASI V55. A single V50 includes 3 keys, a single V55 5 keys. With keyed-alike cylinders (2 or more) every key is charged.
How fast will I get my cylinders?
We make them in our Berlin workshop – usually within a few hours. You will see the expected shipping or collection date in the configurator before you order.
How much is delivery?
UPS Standard costs €9, UPS Express €19 (throughout Germany). The courier in Berlin costs a base price of €12 plus €3 per kilometre from our shop. Collection at Schwedter Str. 5 is free of charge.
Can I reorder keys or more cylinders later?
Yes. With your order you receive a personal reorder code. With it you can order more keys at any time (V50 €8, V55 €16 each) or additional cylinders that fit the same set.
Which size do I need?
Measure your old cylinder from the centre of the fixing screw to both ends: size A (outside) and size B (inside), e.g. 30/35 mm. The base size is 30/30 mm (half cylinder 30/10 mm); each 5 mm extension per side costs €4.
What is the difference between BASI V50 and V55?
The V50 is a solid standard euro cylinder with 5 pin tumblers, tested to EN 1303. The V55 uses a dimple key system with 6 pin tumblers and anti-pick and anti-drill protection – the higher security level.
Can I return the cylinders?
Since every set is made individually for you, it is a custom-made product. There is therefore no right of withdrawal (Section 312g (2) No. 1 German Civil Code). We are happy to advise you on sizes beforehand.
Do you also supply cylinders for my existing master key system?
No. Reorders are only possible for keyed-alike sets we have made ourselves (via your reorder code). We do not supply cylinders for third-party master key systems.
